“Mommy, I want to be a princess when I grow up,” announced Kelly’s, then four-year-old, daughter Kendall. Out of the mouths of babes and straight into Kelly’s heart is how the Lord began to grow a passion in her for teaching others about their royal identity in Christ.
Her daughter’s desire to be a princess inspired Kelly to write her first children’s book called Princess with a Purpose. Using the characters from the book, Kelly began teaching young girls about what it means to be a daughter of the King of Kings through a program she wrote called Princess Prep School. Years later, through the desire of her son Luke wanting to be a warrior for Jesus, Kelly founded Warrior Prince Academy where men teach young boys how to be mighty leaders for God.
Kelly founded Royal Purpose Ministries, a non denominational ministry, in 2004 with the purpose of teaching others about their true identity in Christ so they can fulfill the purpose God has for their lives. She does this through her books, children’s programs, and speaking to groups through out the United States. Using fun props and stories, Kelly communicates her passion for teaching God’s Word with enthusiasm, passion, and humor.
Harvest House Publishers has partnered with Kelly to help make numerous resources available such as Princess with a Purpose children’s book, Princess with a Purpose Curriculum Kit, Princess with a Purpose Activity Book, A Warrior Prince for God children’s book, A Warrior Prince for God Curriculum Kit, and A Warrior Prince for God Activity Book. Also available are the True Princess and Warrior Prince for God music CD’s.
Kelly graduated from Texas A&M University with a degree in journalism. There she met and later married her college sweetheart, Brit. They have been married for over 20 years. The Lord has blessed them with two children, Kendall and Luke.
They attend Second Baptist Church in Houston where she has taught adult Bible Study classes for over seventeen years. As a family they enjoy snow skiing, hiking, eating Mexican food, and playing with their dog, Bean.
